Course Aim

to provide seafarers with comprehensive theoreticalknowledge and extensive practical training in performing tug handlingoperations using the Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) propulsion system.

The course is designed to develop the skills, confidence,and competence required to operate ASD tugs safely, efficiently, andeffectively under various environmental and operational conditions.

Course Objectives

1. Understand the principles of Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug operations.
2. Safely manoeuvre an ASD tug in various operational conditions.
3. Perform ship-assist, towing, escort, berthing, and unberthing operations.
4. Apply effective communication, risk assessment, and Bridge Resource Management     (BRM).
5. Respond  safely to normal and emergency operational scenarios through simulator     training.
