Assessment Aims

This assessment aims to evaluate and verify the competence of technical personnel responsible for the maintenance and reliability of Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems onboard DP vessels.

Assessment Objectives

  1. Evaluate participants’ knowledge and technical skills in DP system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  2. Assess the ability to maintain the reliability and operational integrity of DP equipment and supporting systems.
  3. Verify understanding of DP system components, redundancy concepts, alarms, and fault diagnosis.
  4. Ensure competency meets the requirements of the Nautical Institute (NI) DP Vessel Maintainer Certification framework.

  2. Practical Assessment

Admission Requirements

Participant should be:

  1. ETO or Marine Engineer
  2. Holding a valid NI DPVM Certificate
