DP Simulator (DPO)

Course Aims

To develop practical DP operational competence and decision-making skills through realistic simulator scenarios, including faults, failures, and emergencies.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Operate the DP system safely and effectively in simulated offshore operations.
2. Recognise and respond correctly to DP alarms, warnings, faults, and failures.
3. Apply DP emergency and contingency procedures.
4. Assess failure consequences and select appropriate corrective actions.
5. Demonstrate situational awareness, communication, and teamwork in DP operations.
